Gloria Cooper (nee Portnoy) age 85, beloved wife of Donald Cooper, married for 65 years; loving mother of Beth (Gary) Birnbaum and Merle Cooper; cherished grandma of Haley and Evan (Dana) Birnbaum. A special thanks to Teresa Kinel for her devotion and care all these years. Gloria donated much of her time to OMNI Youth Services, as well as other organizations that worked to help families in need. Gloria was a troop leader for the Girl Scouts and had a passion for painting as well as for horses where she developed her equestrian skills. Chapel service Tuesday 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment will follow at Shalom Memorial Park.
